7 things to add to your kids Easter Egg hunt

Easter is a holiday I celebrate mostly because of the memories I have from my childhood. Easter Sunday was always an especial occasion on my family when I was growing up and it surprises me sometimes that is not the same for everybody. In fact, I remember a time, when I first started dating my husband Joel, when he told me he had something planned with his friends on Easter Sunday which really surprised me because to me that was a date you always spent with family, but to him, it was just like any other weekend.

For us Easter is all about the egg hunt, spending time together and having a nice lunch. There are always Easter and Spring events to attend, we bake hot cross buns and paint eggshells for the “Easter Bunny” to fill them with treats. Then on Saturday night I fill the eggs and plan the little hunt using cut out bunny pawns and arrows to guide Cora on her bunny treats quest.

Yes, Easter and chocolate go hand in hand but I try to add other items to Cora’s Easter basket so that she gets some chocolate, but its not the main event.

Here is a list of the treats I add to her Easter basket:

  • Small milk chocolate eggs.

  • Hard boiled eggs.

  • Popcorn.

  • Raisins.

  • Carrots.

  • Apples.

  • A new toothbrush.

Also, below you can find my free printout to help you set up a fun and easy Easter Egg Hunt trail. The printout includes bunny paws, bunny ear headpiece, arrows to direct your trail and little bunny ears for stitching to boiled eggs or crafting. Cut out the items from the printout and create a path for your kids to follow and find their basket of treats.
